Beijing D3 - Tasty Steak, 西堤牛排

We knew Tasty Steak in Shanghai 5 years ago, and re-visited the restaurant within that short span of our vacation, impressed with its fanciful food presentation and affordable pricing. It matters too that food quality and services rendered were top notch.

All meals come in set (¥78, ¥128, ¥158) that were all inclusive, consisting of 5 courses plus a sorbet and drink of your choice! Dining was a fulfilling pleasure.

Let's see what we could have for a set lunch at ¥78, S$15.60 today.

Appetizer: Sesame Butter Bread with Baked Mushroom Cream

Mixed Fresh Vegetable Salad (Ric)

Roe, Ham and Potato Salad (Beary)

Corn Soup and serving of Passion Fruit Sorbet

主厨秘制牛排, Chef's Special Steak (Ric)

We used to have good steak at their ¥98 set meal (that was the pricing 5 years ago), but today's steak was clearly a disappointment. It doesn't have the flavorsome bite of tough red meat; rather, the steak was obnoxiously tender like a chicken fillet!

香烤雪花猪排, Roasted Snow Pork Steak, 200g (Beary)

Thankfully, Tasty doesn't fall flat on us after all these years, my pork chop was reasonably good while we believe other Mains option on the ¥78 menu should make its mark - namely, the Italian-style Duck Chest Roasted with Black Pepper, Roasted Rosemary Chicken Fillet and the Deep Sea Sole Fillet!

We had planned for another meal at Tasty before we end our Beijing trip but something else cropped up in the last days...

Drinks: Iced Cafe Latte, Caramel Macchiato

Desserts: French Leftbank Coffee Jelly, Green Tea Muffin Ice Cream
